We feed him on Oscar's kibble puppy food (chicken & rice flavour). However when his big moutian dog sister isn't looking he will grab a mouthfull of the adult version of fish & potato.
Yeah Lynn.... you did say he may not grow to the full size of the adult male...were living on stale bread and gruelto feed this monster ha ha.
Will try to get a more accurate height for him on Wednesday for the five month check.
I know this may upset claire(sorry!!) but his coat is also getting longer especially around his mane and tail. He would probably weigh a lot more if he didn't drool soooo much too when taking out in the car. We are thinking of buying him a st bernard bib or two. _________________ Annette and Gary |

I am sure Diesel isn't 5 months for another 10 days or so. I am slightly confused.
Last weigh in at the local vets was at 17.6 kg. He still looks really lean. Getting loads of thick maine so I think this is where the weight is coming from. |

Hi all,
Don't think we will be able to make the show...sorrrrry!. Annette has to oversee a project at work over that weekend (typical). And on top of that she has to go into hospital for an operation around then too.
Just a thought Lynn, when are you coming down south we could possibly meet up with you somewhere?. We did joke about letting claire take him up on our behalf but i don't think we would ever see him again ha ha.
Onai has just started to do that thing that bigger tamaskans do..... NO not that. you know they walk slowly along head down, swinging glances left and right just looking how they can get themselves into trouble.... it's like a swaggering wolf. Think someone needs to come with a new word that can be used for this behaviour if they haven't already. Maybe we should call it maskin....a cross between the breed and them trying to mask the fact that thier up to something.
Take care.... am expecting a call from claire any second, promising to bring him back!!!! ha ha. _________________ Annette and Gary |

I'm more than happy to bring him up, as long as you promise that he won't drown Bru and Tala in the back with his drool!!!
I am sure we could arrange a rendevous |

Dallas was measured today and is 51cm Her weight is proportionate. Dont have scales that work so cant weigh her.
It will be nice to compare all the babies at the coming show/bbq |

How does Diesel compare to Blaze when he was Diesel's age? I remember Lynn saying Blaze was (at the time) one of the biggest pups she's seen. Haha. _________________ ~Arie

hahaha well as far as I've noticed the furniture is currently (more or less) intact, though he does like to chew on the sofa cushions and bath mats. He's also ripped up the kitchen floor and the hallway carpet but they both needed to be replaced anyway so oh well... hehehe
I'm amazed at how much he's eating these days... it seems the 15 KG bags of Eukanuba kibble barely lasts a month! So I guess he must be eating around (or just under) half a kilo of food per day (divided over 2 meals: morning and night)... does that sound about right?
He's all legs and ears at the moment but the funny thing is that I've had friends ask me if I feed him enough because (to them) he looks too skinny! To me he looks about right. LOL
I guess he's just a beast in the making. _________________

Hi all,
Onai has 3x 150g meals and the odd handfull in-between those. Mind you if anyone saw him eat or should i say scoff it down it looks like he hasn't been fed in a week ,so that sounds about right at 0.5kg per day. We also find if we feed him more than this in 1 meal he tends to go a little loose!.
Will measure and weigh Onai over weekend and post here as usual.
Bye for now, _________________ Annette and Gary |

Hi all,
Onai at 22 weeks, weight 17.2 kg height at shoulder 56 cm. It appears all the growth in past 2 weeks has been mostly in length and width!!!. Anyway it all still looks in proportion.
Have also put a couple of pics on here for any comments (nice ones only please) ha ha.
We took the cage away this week...., his poor little face when he saw Gary taking away his house arrr. We put down a nice new big bed for him to share with zeta. As you can see this proved to be to small to!.

Hi Lynn,
Thankyou....however what you can't see is the lead attached to the tree to try to keep him in place, and the fact that Gary had to take about 40 shots just to get a few good ones...He seems to know just when to move or eat the tree....flowers...grass, am sure you are familiar with the senario. Hopefully we will get to see upto date photo's of the rest of the gang soon!.
As for the rest that's down to your hardwork in getting them like this. _________________ Annette and Gary |

Diesel 5 Months - 22 weeks
Weight 20.9 kg
Height 59-60 cm @ shoulder
I notice this is almost the same as Sampo at 7 months - yikes. And most people think he is too skinny. |

Good size Nick. Dont mistake thin for lean. A lot of the pups at this age are quite lean. They look their best at around 3yrs plus. QUite late maturing. |

THanks Lynn, and yes he is indeed lean and not thin. I think the main reason people think this is because they initially think Diesel as a GSD. Almost every person thinks he is a GSD. I then go on to explain that GSD's are much broader and more stocky. And the Tamaskan is more lean and slender as they are working / running dogs amongst all the other plethora of diferences.
I had a swiss lady come up in awe the other day, commenting on how rare his type of fur was, with the black tip layering. SHe was very impressed and took lots of details down. Most impressed at the size as Diesel was only about a 3rd smaller than her rather larger BSD. |
