Just wondered if anyone watches the Dog Whisperer? We have had Nat Geo Wild channel for a couple of weeks (only temporary to entice you to subscribe to expensive TV package, of course) and I have been watching him most nights. Yesterday was last day though and I am quite disappointed as they have been advertising his new series starting on Sunday, where one of his clients is a husky. It actually looks more like a Tamaskan type in the clip they show and I would have really liked to have seen it.

I love his pit bull, Daddy, that he takes with him to calm down the dogs he is dealing with.

Yes I watch this every night on Sky 3 and then Nat Geo. I love it!

Its alot of common sense and the end of the day, but he really does have an immediate effect on dogs or should I say owners.

Ill keep an eye out for the Husky episode. It may become available to download as a torrent.

I've seen the advert that you are talking about and my immediate thought was it looked quite like a tamaskan, but not sure it shares a tamaskans temperament. I'll watch out for the episode it'll be interesting to see if they expand more on the breed.

Just seen the programme and the dog looks like a typical wolfdog that one would get in USA. Def not a husky anyhow. Also cant see any Malamute in it.

I tried to watch it but it seems it's not showing here in Holland... it was a different program on instead.

There are a couple of DVD extracts on his website that I saw many months ago. I was impressed. He's convincing.

I wanted to buy one of his books, but they seem so full of chit-chat about the lifestyles and homes of his Beverly Hills clients that I've stopped myself so far. He could and should write something a bit more focussed on behaviour and instinct manipulation (dog and human); a handbook or rough-guide.

I dont know if books would be the right medium for him. He seems to spend as much time reading the owner's body language etc as the dogs. I think it would be quite hard to analyse yourself at the time you are trying to deal with something the dog is doing. He'd probably strangle me anyway if he ever came to visit - I dont think calm assertive sums me up and calm submissive certainly doesnt sum up Ayasca. Still the treadmill is an interesting idea, for both of us! If and when my son moves out and vacates a room I might think about getting us one Laughing

Very Happy I saw the treadmill episode last week, when I was in the UK.

I'm all for accepting responsibility for my own neuroses, when it comes to my dogs behaviour, but Sampo's definitely in his doggy-teens... Confused

He's hung Snoop-Doggy-Dog posters across his windows, plays World of Warcraft in the dark all day and I'm certain his fur smells of pot-smoke... Shocked

How would Cesare deal with that kind of challenge from an adolescent, male dog?

Bruce, that is brilliant. Snoop posters, and a dope smoking dog. Definite signs of a teenager. These joys I have yet to come, I cant wait!

It is funny how similar Sampo's adolescence is to that of my partner's (almost) 16 year-old son's...

Wantonly breaking rules and then when the butter-wouldn't-melt-your-mouth look fails, they scarper into their little corners refusing to be accused of anything.

And I haven't mentioned the dirty trainers/bones/comics/toys left lying around or the embarrassing erectile issues...

Sampo sound just like Harry Enfield's whining 'Kevin' when I'm slow with dishing-out is brekky after the morning walk too Shocked

whoo-whoo-whoo!!!
