Good idea, a birthday party sounds good! We will all come to yours for a pool party !!! In November !!! On second thoughts, it will be a bit cold so I would recommend you persuade Brad to put in a spa bath, then I can convince Gary to put one in for me ! _________________ Annette and Gary |

You jest! But we are currently in 'negotiation' about a jacuzzi!!!! Brad's mum has one that she no longer wants and has offered it to us, I'm not too keen on the idea, but Brad is currently in the process of building a new deck to put it on.
(Of course when I say he is in the process of building a new deck, this is in his head! Nothing has actually happened in the garden yet! ) _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' |

Thats brilliant. I must get a pool for Diesel.
And I see your thinking in the future also, Tala at 7.5 months? Not yet, hehe. I keep looking at Diesel and thinking Dam you can not be only 6 and 3/4 months old. Its mad how fast they grow.
Imagine the neighbors faces. A heap of Tamaskans and people fighting to stay warm in the November Pool Party. |

I think they might be older than you think!!! I thought in dog terms you assume 4 wks per month, so for example Tala will be 30 wks old on Tuesday, if you divide that by 4 you get 7.5 months!
Maybe I'm confused [/i] _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' |

Today we visited a little village fete where they were holding a family dog show.
Of course I felt the need to enter Tala into Prettiest Bitch and we don't normally take Bru out to this sort of thing as it can be too much for him. But today we took him with us, we've never entered him into any shows before but Brad thought he might feel left out so we entered Bru into Most Handsome dog!
And the good news is.....
Tala came 1st in Prettiest Bitch

Bruno came 2nd in Most Handsome Dog

Which meant they both went through to the last 12 for Best in Show, I wouldn't like to say that we are a competitive couple at all and we love both our dogs equally but it did sort of turn into a Girls vs Boys match, there were also 3 other dogs from our dog club in the final, so the competition was tough!!
Bru was beginning to suffer from the heat and Tala was feeling excessively bouncy in the sun, so we didn't rate our chances much!
Imagine how gobsmacked we were when our old boy got Best in Show, (his first time out!). I was so proud

And to complete the day Tala got Reserve Best in Show! The judge couldn't believe it when she found out we were related!

Tala was most put out that she was beaten by her older 'brother', she was woo-wooing in this photo and Bru is laughing at her!

Proud dad wanted to share the moment!!

As always we had forgotten to take the camera so had to quickly take some when we got back home. I am hoping my mother in law might have got some good photo's! _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! Oh that's so wonderful! Congrats!
We don't have opportunities like this around here--I called all the County Fairs and they don't do dog shows It's wonderful that you have this type of exposure--esp. with the Tamaskan!
Your dogs are really cute!!!
well done! _________________ __________________

Thats excellent Claire. Tala and Bru doing so well and clearing up the competitions.
We went to a local fate and no one really turned up, so they cancelled the dog show. Hmmm.
Oh, yeah I run dates per calander month. Else you would be celebrating birthdays on diferent dates each year if one was to run on a 4 week month. So I suppose 7.5 months in dog time and 6 months and 4/5ths in actual time. LOL. But hey who really cares, I know the muts don't. |

Hi,
Very well done to all of you. Onai sends his best wishes wooo wooo woowoo woof . Brad will have to start on a trophy cuboard now..... give him some woodwork practice before the new spa deck ha ha.
Maybe he could take a pipe out of the new spa to Tala's pool, she's going to be quite a star soon what with several film and video release's to her credit already and will need to relax in true hollywood style!.
Hmmm, and what else would she need, chauffeur, pedicure, diamond collar....are you listening Brad.
Don't go upsetting to many recognised breed's by winning all the shows
around there ha ha.
Well done again. _________________ Annette and Gary |

Well it would appear that the paddling pool is a great idea for when it's hot, but a soggy dog on a not so warm day isn't as much fun!
In an attempt to keep her out of her new favourite plaything I placed the lid on to try and keep her out! Being a tamaskan (and intelligence is one of their traits!) she managed to get the lid off in a few seconds and once again started to paddle, this isn't as cute as it was a few days ago!!
But today I had a genius of an idea, put the lid on upside down and she definitely won't be able to get into the water!!! Yay I think I have out-foxed (out-wolfed ) her for now!
The result one very cross and confused girl, she can hear the water and see it spill out but can't get to it!
Apologies for the quality I videoed it on my phone!

I wonder how durable plastic actually is!!! Maybe this is a new treadmill for dogs, anyway the result is she is now worn out and we have puppy class soon! _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! Tala is almost back to 100% after her unfortunate accident. We have found it really hard to keep her calm and still whilst she has been recovering.
What we have discovered is that she loves watching animal programmes on TV, anything will generally do! But if want to make sure she really chills out it has to be Dog Borstal or the Dog Whisperer!!
I have just tried videoing her tonight whilst watching Dog Borstal, sorry the quality is rubbish!

P.S I'm taking her to Hydrotherapy tomorrow for the first time, to give her some safe exercise to try and wear her out a bit!! _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' |

Oh my that is so adorable! She reminds me of my baby nephew and Barney. I never knew a dog that liked watching tv before. _________________ FutureOwnerOfATamaskan

As some of you may be aware Tala has been having some hydrotherapy sessions to help build up her muscles in her hip after her accident.
Today was her 3rd session in the small pool, which they use to assess the dogs abilities and injuries, the dogs swim on the spot to help build up their confidence before moving up to the big pool.
As Bru was swimming in the big pool this morning, so when he had finished his session, we gave Tala a quick go in the big pool to see how she felt about swimming freely and to give us an idea on whether she would be trouble or not!! Just as she got in the pool the next dog had come into the building, being the nosy parker she is, she had to swim over and see who/what was going on! So when she seems to swimming in circles it's her trying to see if she is mssing out on anything!

Anyway enough waffle, here is a quick clip of her in the small and big pool to show what hydrotherapy is all about! _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' |

Brad managed to take a quick video of her playing in the sea, it was very windy and he was trying to video with one hand so apologies for the quality!
Her favourite things at agility are going through the tunnel and going over the little jumps, this has resulted in her trying to jump anything she can... see if you can spot it!
