|
|
Hi All
Nick and I have been discussing for a while that it would be nice to have a catch up for the 'Slough Pick Up Group!' and for anyone else who would like to join us or just want to meet the Tams in the fur!
As we had such a great day at the Wag and Bone show and lots of people seemed to make it, Windsor Park seems like a good location to meet.
If anyone would like to suggest a date or join us you would be more than welcome!
Nick - Do you have any dates in mind as I know it is still quite a distance for you to travel? |

Could you not have your 'meet up' at the Tamaskan show and bbq?? that way you would meet lots of other people too and see a lot more Tamaskan in the flesh! |

Hi Claire,
I have been speaking with my mother (she has the car) and hopefullly we are planning for sometime in May, most likely a Saturday. I will letyou know dates that we can do as soon as my mum gets them to me.
Lynn, I would love to attend the BBQ, but really a 5 hour journey is just too far for me. When you said I could pick Diesel up at Slough I was so happy as I knew I wouldn't be physically destroyed from muscle cramps for days.
Plus, Windsor is quite close for all us Southerners.
I hope Chris can make it also, that would be great.
Hey, could you come down to Windsor Lynn? |

I'll be at the BBQ Lynn but I know not all the Southerners can make it, so we thought it would be nice if we could have an alternative get together |

Not to worry. I am up and down the country to the dog shows so for me it isnt a problem. I seem to forget some people are not used to driving hundreds of miles like I do every week nearly haha.
Yep I am coming South this summer 7th June to Thatcham and again 3rd August to Paignton, cant remember whats inbetween. But will try to get across to your meeting when you have something def arranged will check my diary. |

Hello there,
I'm not a Tamaskan (or even a dog) owner, and sadly never have been, but if you do hold an open(?) meeting at Windsor on the 16/17th I'd be interested in attending, if that is OK with all those involved.
I'm a student in Oxford, so I can get down there very easily.
I'd like to meet some Tamaskans and their owners (or is it pets ?), at some point, and this would be a good opportunity...
(I can't yet say definitively whether I could come or not, but I think it is very likely I'd be able to get down there.)
Many thanks,
Jonathan |

That's no problem, I think the 17th looks like the favoured date. So you're more than welcome to attend, I think there will be at least 3 or 4 Tamaskans there. |

I've found some links on the Windsor Park site, that may help us decide where to meet

Well heres hoping for good weather for that weekend.
It only takes me about an Hour and half to get to windsor so anytime from 10:30 - 11 onwards I suppose will be a good time to meet.
I will let the folks who know windsor choose the exact destination. But perhaps some slightly wooded areas would be nice for the dogs?
I really can not wait to meet up with you all, I know Diesel is very keen to meet Elkie! |

Ahh that may be a problem!
I guess we have 3 options!
1) stick with same time and location and accept that it may be busy, but the horses could be good socialistion, but the off lead play opportunities may be limited!
2) Move to a different weekend
3) Stay with the same weekend but meet at a different location, there are plenty of big parks in Swindon, but this may be too far fo Nick to travel. Does anyone know the Windsor area well enough to suggest a suitable alternative in that part of the world?

I do think Windsor should be avoided that weekend - it is a very big show. Happy to change dates. Have al ook at Burnham Beeches on the internet. It won't add anything to your journey Claire and probably about 15 mins for Nick. They are huge, huge woods - absolutely beautiful and very dog friendly. There is a good cafe there by a car park which you should see on the internet. See what you think. |

Thanks Chris it looks lovely, I have attached some links in case anyone wants to have a look.
Looks like there is plenty of room for the dogs to run about and a cafe as well, what more could we want!
Just need to see if Nick can make it

Hi all,
We're easy. Go with the flow! Onai can still drool for England, so a few miles more or less in our wet suits won't matter ha ha. Zeta looks good in her 4 pink flippers! _________________ Annette and Gary |

Burnham Beeches looks easy to get to (and very nice), so seems like a good idea.
The info suggests that there may be roaming livestock in a good chunk of the southerly part, something to bear in mind... (They claim to get a half million visitors per year too, so it might be somewhat busy if it's a very sunny day...)
If it is moved there, which car park/where would people meet? (The one by the café looks like an idea). |
