Shall we stick with the original 10.30-11 timings?
The cafe looks like a good place to head for to meet up, I'm sure we will be there a bit earlier so Brad can fill up on brunch!!
So as far as the posts go I am assuming that along with us, we will have Chris, Nick, Gary and Annette and Jonathan meeting at Burnham Beeches.
Have I missed anyone, I'd hate us to go off and leave someone behind! _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' |

That's great. I'll be there for 10.30. The car park is very near the cafe. There are leaflets we can pick up for some of the walks. There are ponds (big ones)! and the woods are beautiful. It is huge. I haven't taken Elkie there yet but we've been several times with Steffi. I'm not bringing Steffi as I think I will need to concentrate full time on Elkie!!!! I will be bringing my daughter (12). My husband and son are away that weekend on a cub camp. Really looking forward to seeing you all, and the puppies!!!!! |

Yeah we are thinking nearer to 11 o clock. Taking account of the traffic.
No fear, we will have still and vid cameras with us. Ill be coming with my Mum and her partner and I think we are meeting some other family up there for the walk also. Whilst in rome and all that.... |

Hi all,
Looking foward to Sunday. Unfortunatly Annette has had her operation and is still quite poorly.. so she may end up staying at the cafe instead of going on the route march. Mind you Onai is only good for about 30 mins.. also having to keep him on soft ground as he has again scuffed a nail.
Will be taking Zeta also so will have my hands full!!!!
see you soon. _________________ Annette and Gary |

After boasting that Elkie had a cast iron stomach both dogs now have tummy bugs and I'm not going to be able to make it Sunday - mainly because it can be passed on. I'm so disappointed - I'll be thinking of you all. I want Elkie to be A1 for next Saturday as well. My older dog has the bug which can be passed on and Elkie has colitis and has a temperature etc. - she may also pick up the bug from Steffi . I have to go back to the vets Saturday. Now I know why people have small dogs (because they have small 'bottoms'!!!)
Hopefully we'll arrange something else later and all catch up then. Really sorry! |

Oh NO.... I hope she gets better soon!
This is a real blow as I was so hoping Diesel could meet up with his litter mate. Hmmm, weather is looking poor also, perhaps we should re-arrange? I know for sure now that If it is pooring down, i shall stay at home as Diesel is a real pain in the rain (lol) atm.
What you guys think? |

I've already bought the tickets to get down there on that day, so a rearrangement would be somewhat inconvenient for me :∫, but I could probably work something out...
The next weekend is the when meeting in Cheshire will be...
Hope Elkie and Steffi recover soon... |

I think the weather for Sunday is mainly dry with a few showers, this website is normally very accurate

We have a gazebo we can take if it starts to shower so we have somewhere to shelter.
If you have bought your tickets JGR we are still happy to meet you. _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' |

Well I am just thinking that with Onai only able to go for 30 mins or so, and Annette being poorly along with Elkie, it looked to me to be best re-arranged.
Doesnt mean this one has to be cancelled, but I am really eager to get as many Tams together as poss, including Diesel's litter mates. I would love to attend the Tamaskan show, but a 11 hour round journey would render me useless for weeks. The 3 and half to 4 hour to slough is much more bareable.
Also, if the weather is going to be ok, then cool. But I will say if it is chucking it down, then I will not attend, purely because Diesel is a real pain in the rain atm. Bite through leads, hates it. Also, I don't think my mum is too keen on having a soaking wet dog in her car for 2 hours.
I shall be back with a dicision soon.
Claire I need to grab your number perhaps, so that we can confirm things etc, on the day. |

Sorry about Elie and Steffi Chris, we hope that they are on the mend. We know what its like to have two big dogs with poorly tummies and its not fun! Hope to see you at the show on the 23rd.
Claire,Nick and JGB we are still happy to meet on Sunday. Lets hope Claires weather site is accurate ! Good idea about the gazebo , we have a marquee style one with sides but its takes about six people to put up! Are we still meeting at 10.30 ish ? _________________ Annette and Gary |

We're still planning on getting there for 10.30ish!
Chris, I'm sorry about Elkie and Steffi not being well, I know it's not much fun! Just had a thought though if it is not too far for you, maybe you could have a flying visit without the dogs, it would be lovely to see you
But completely understand if you don't want to leave them.
Nick, I'll PM you my number, I can text you first thing Sunday and let you know what the weather is like in Swindon, assuming it will be similar to Slough!
Our gazebo is a pop up one and quite large! If it is raining when we get there we will stick it up so we will be pretty easy to see and Annette can stay dry! _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! Hi all
Elkie and Steffi much better and the house much sweeter! Went to the vets and she is happy they are well on the mend. I'm just not exercising them much and have to let them out in the garden more instead. I would rather stay home tomorrow and make sure they get out to the garden when they need to. Elkie has only one day on anti-biotics and from Monday I can exercise them properly which will be great.
I'm so disappointed about tomorrow but will see most of you Saturday. Nick, I'm really sorry to miss you and Deisel. I wanted to see Elkie and Deisel together. Perhaps we can sort out something else. I know Claire suggested some Shows which I've written in - perhaps you are going to one of them?
Will be thinking of you all - please send some pictures! |

Hi Chris
Good news that they are on the mend! I'm sure there will be lots of photo's!
I am sure we will meet up again later in the year maybe when the weather is more settled! _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' |

Well we have just returned home.
We were really lucky for the few hours we we all there. Its was blue skies (almost) and nice and warm. Poured with rain on the way there and way back.
Really glad to say that Diesel seams to love car journies. This is the longest car trip he had since we got him and he either sleeps or watches the world go by.
I would be loading up aload of photos, but alas this morning was a disaster.
Firstly, getting up early always confuses Diesel, so I was trying to toilet him before the ride. Would he go, NO. So I got all his bits together, food, water toys etc. Cameras and keys all by the door. And you can guess what happened next, yep - I lock us out in the pouring rain. GREAT!
So a wee detor on route to get food and LEADS, LOL.
Well all the dogs got on great. Tala likes to have a little nibble of each dog and put them in their place. One thing that my mum commented on is how well behaved and calm the Tamaskans were in comparison to alot of the other breeds that were wondering around.
When I arrived Tala and Onai were on a little walk, but soon after Diesel and Tala went for a trot through the woods. Some great off lead fun for Diesel. Very rarly can we find dogs to play with him.
And yes, Diesel is a BIG boy. And the blacks lines, to me, are very different dogs to the silver / grey / reds. Very different muzzles, longer and less muscular on Diesel. Also he seams to have a slightly different type of coat, perhaps slightly longer.
Well I shall let the guys fill you all in on some more fun.
And we will get some snaps up when I get them from my mother. Also my auntie took a load also.
Really great to meet you all again. And Jonathon, I think youll make a great Tamaskan owner. I can just see one (or two or pehaps a pack) trotting by your side.
Ah and Chris, we fell in love with Burnham, so when ever you are up for a little get together I am happy to meet there again, so long as I have transport available. Else if you ever fancy taking your two down to the seaside, you (everyone) is welcome down to Brighton whenever. |

I can't say that my experience weather-wise was as good as Nick's...
(I started raining heavily shortly before I arrived at Burnham station, and didn't stop till half an hour or so after I got to the forest. It was... refreshing, ahem, yeah...)
That minor detail aside, I enjoyed it very much and am glad to have met you all and the dogs. You all performed admirably on the Tamaskan-promotion front, and I think I'm sold on the idea of the meet next weekend too
Diesel and Tala seemed to get on really well (I wouldn't say ran off and ignored you both, but they were having fun, from the looks of it).
Thanks a lot for that Nick, someday, someday...
Those photos aren't bad, shows how exuberant and friendly they were. (The headless/waist down people in the background look a little weird though )
Looking forward to seeing some of you again in a week... |

I'm so envious! Glad you had a great time and thought Burnham Beeches was good I did think of you all! Deisel is so like Elkie. Would love to meet up. We would be happy to come Brighton way - dread to think what Elkie would make of the sea! Elkie is hyper at the moment so wonder if she would have changed what people thought of Tamaskans! Soon find out next weekend! Elkie is chewing absolutely everything at the moment - skirting, carpet, stealing bananas from the fruit bowl etc. etc.! Having to put literally everything away before I leave the house! Good job we love her and she's so drop dead gorgeous!!
See you all next Saturday and Nick you just suggest a date. Thanks for photos! |

Thanks Chris for recommending Burnham Beeches it was a lovely location for us to meet and it was a really safe place for the dogs to play and have some off-lead fun!!
It was great to catch up with everyone again and really impressed with Jonathan for making the journey in such horrible conditions, that's the sort of dedication we like
I can confirm that Diesel really is as big as he looks in the photo's, but Onai wasn't too far behind him! As Tala was significantly smaller than the boys I think she felt the need to let them know that size isn't everything and she was more than capable of keeping them in their place!!
They were all very well behaved, apart from Tala's little rolling episode in a dead thing!! Thank god they invented dog wet wipes otherwise it would have been a long stinky journey home and the decision NOT to bath her yesterday was a good one!
I was so busy with the dogs I completely forgot to take any photo's Sorry! _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' |

Hi all,
We had a great time too today!. Something was wrong with the camera and the first few pics we have seem blured. Gary thinks it was moisture on the lens from the damp conditions.....(inside his coat pocket).
The boys like Onai had to sleep on the way home!!! see the photo and you can just make out Onai behind their heads ha ha.
Will try to see if we can clean up the other images if poss otherwise will have to wait until next week.

I'm sure the boys will be chuffed to bits that you've posted that photo of them!!
We'd be happy to come down to Brighton too Nick, I'd to see what Tala thought of the sea!
Maybe you could suggest some dates? _________________ You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!' |

Awww, look at them little kids...
It's not such a big deal Claire, a little hike in the rain never hurt anybody.
(If only this work I'm now procrastinating from was as enticing as to extract similar dedication :\)
Indeed Burnham Beeches seemed like a great place, and one I'd be happy to pay another visit to, too... |

Hi everyone... looks like you had fun last weekend!
If you're planning a meet in the Brighton area, we'd love to bring Lukka along to see everyone, if that's ok? Any idea on dates?
By the sounds of things we'll meet some of you at the BBQ this weekend too _________________ "Sit".... "Sit".... "Nope, you're absolutely right, what I really meant was go and find the cat and annoy her instead" |

Excellent, well lets get the Southern Summer Tamskan BBQ sorted. I'll look over some dates and venues (my house is an ok size, but I can prob get a nice place with a massive garden for the dogs) and post back soon with some ideas.
And yes, Lukka et al are welcome. Ha ha. The more Tamaskan's the better. |
