A really beautiful place to get married.
When we married we were so restricted here in the UK, it had to be indoors at a church or a specially licensed venue, but I believe it's getting better. You can get married on the deck of some of our famous ships and so on, but they still need to get a license.
I could think of some real beautiful spots to get hitched. Mind you a freind of mine is trying to get married underwater! _________________ "Maybe tomorrow I'll wanna settle down." |

What part of PA are you from? I went to High School in Titusville, near Erie. |

Yeah, I was also curious about where in PA you are because it sure looks beautiful! We are not too far from Gettysburg and/or York areas. I love all the photos of your outdoor adventures! The flowers and tree were my favorites Does your pup like to dig a lot? |

Yes! We're in Erie--right on the lake. Presque Isle State Park is one of our favorite places--so we've vaccinated our dogs for Lyme disease. The incidence there is quite high But things are usually pretty safe on the beach.
The photos of Freyja are at Asbury Woods Nature Center. It's a Township owned greenway that has really grown over the past 15 years. (acquired additional property along Walnut Creek. They're trying to extend the greenway all the way to the lake )
We can't wait to take our dogs to the Wintergreen Gorge (Penn State Behrend property) I think it's one of the most beautiful places around. Have you been there or Asbury Woods? Both pieces of property, on different ends of the county, were once owned by the same person. One chunk went to Penn State, the other to Asbury woods.
PA has a lot of woods. Some of the most woods in the country, I believe. We owe it to private land, and mostly to the State Game Lands via PA Game Commission. Lots of State Parks: 111. And the Allegheny National Forest, too. (Okay, now I'm bragging.)
And yes, it seems Freyja will be a digger. She only goes out in the back yard with us so far--as we have yet to put up a fence. It's coming any day now, though--we got a nice tax return this year So, for now she likes to shove and 'bury' her toys in the couch. It's really funny--but we need her to stop otherwise when she's full grown she'll shred the couch Good thing it's second hand furniture _________________ __________________

Oh boy, we had Freyja out in the backyard while we were installing our fence...I think we could have employed her to dig our post holes...she
dug a nice big hole _________________ __________________

Yes, she loved the water! This was her second all-in swim. You can see her paddling successfully at the top photo
Her and Fen played for a good 30 minutes going in and out of the water, running up and down the shoreline, and racing up to the trail ahead and back. They even ignored a passing dog! too caught up in each other I guess. Once they got tired you could tell--stopped listening so much and wanted to start exploring a little too far away from us. It's a little hike to get down there so we decided to get going. In all, we had them out for about an hour and a half.
I think Freyja is approaching 30 pounds now. She goes to the vet tomorrow for a 4th and final round of shots (a just in case Parvo vaccine). We'll find out just how big she is then.
Fenris is 60 pounds and still growing. She certainly holds her own when playing with him...one tough cookie! _________________ __________________

Ah those shots are lovely.
I really want to find some nice water holes like that near me. All i have are very very fast flowing rivers and a fairly rough sea. Diesel loves a paddle, but he hasn't had a chance to have a good swim yet. |

Okay--I know it's been ages, but here are some recent photos of Freyja. We took our dogs to camp a couple of weeks ago--their first experience in the Alleghney mountains. Loads of new smells! Freyja was very curious about the deer heads on the wall--it was funny to guess what she was thinking (where are the legs? is this dinner? if I'm bad will this happen to me?)
Freyja and Fenris both loved this trip as much as we did--we look forward to taking them again in a month or so.
We bought them special orange vests because coyote hunting is very popular here in Pennsylvania. Thankfully, they were realatively cheap--but I felt much more comfortable in the woods knowing our dogs had orange on! We did keep them on a long flex-line, too, because we were in a new place with the potential of wildlife to chase (including poisonous snakes--which I didn't want to deal with!) They had a blast!

Freyja and Fen! She's so big now...and so beautiful!
From the picture, it looks like she has orange-y colored eyes? And it seems like she's growing into those ears of hers.
Thanks for posting the pics of (not so little anymore) Freyja as well as Fen! I love the first picture where Freyja is checking out the deer. lol.
I think I remember John saying the Tarheel litter only had 1 red/grey female? I see a fair amount of red in Freyja, so I was wondering which color she is...*is bad with the colors of the Tamaskan* *headdesk*
It's good to see you back in the forums! Missed ya. _________________ ~Arie

Thanks for the welcome back
No, Freyja is wolf grey. I think John & Tina kept the red grey as their own. However, Freyja's coat has changed a lot from when she first came home with us.
I looked closely at her eyes today and they had changed again already. There was a bit of yellow in the center--sorrounded by the darker brown. Very pretty eyes.
I have found, however, that their coat looks different in photos depending on the light you photograph them in. For instance--in flat lighting (such as indoors) Freyja doesn't look so good (and that's entirely my opinion). Her coat looks really flat. (if that makes any sense) She looks best in bright sunlight (where the orangy color on her ears really comes out) If she is outside and it's partly cloudy--the color on the backs of her ears looks more Ochre. (which was my first name choice--similar to Ocracoke Treasure--her kennel name--but Ben wouldn't let me--he said it was too masculine...oh well...)
So--maybe we can give the forcast depending on how our Tam's look. _________________ __________________
