Just to let everyone know that I will be in Germany with a dog or two (I would bring more but it costs a fortune to get the required vet treatment done before re-entry into UK) Hopefully in the future sometime they will drop it altogether. Last time I was there it cost me 70 euros for just one dog!!!! It will be first week of September

If anyone would like to meet up with me I will be heading out to Karsten & Kirstens and will be meeting up with Karen and Miran too.

LOL Very Happy

I'm hoping to make it to the meeting in Germany but it's a 17-18 hour train journey from Croatia (one way) and tickets are pretty expensive (250 euros one way) plus to bring Jasper with me, one way, costs 96 euros. So all in all the round trip will cost about 700 euros. It's probably cheaper to just buy a car LOL... I have to get my American driving license traded in for a Croatian one first though, which unfortunately takes some time. I'll look into booking a flight though but then bringing Jasper would probably be out of the question... hmmmm... maybe I'll get lucky and find someone who's driving out in that direction... and back. I'll keep you posted! Wink

Wow Debby that is a long train drive. How long is it then driving? I know when I was over in Canada (Alberta) visiting family, my cousin took a train across from Ontario to meet up with us and it took her non stop 3 days.... you just dont realise just how big these countries are. Perhaps you should speak with Pete as he goes across to Bulgaria regularly to his house. Cant remember when he is moving permanently.

hehe yep by train it's a bit of a nightmare. I went from Den Haag to Zagreb with my boyfriend + 3 cats + Jasper when we moved here a couple of weeks ago... not an experience I'm keen to repeat. hahaha It was just very tedious and a bit stressful with hopping on and off different trains... if it was all just 1 train ride it would be OK but we had to change in Utrecht, Frankfurt, and Munich before we arrived in Zagreb. We sure did get some funny looks though with all the animals and one person even asked us if we were part of a traveling show... LOL Laughing

By car it's a 12 hour journey from Den Haag to Zagreb so much more reasonable. I just haven't had much experience driving such long distances... I once drove from Houston to Austin (3 hour car journey one way, 6 hour round trip) and it was pretty tough going... though I was 18 at the time and the US highways are all quite monotonous. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, I've been in contact with Pete already and we're discussing some plans for the future but he said he won't be moving to Bulgaria just yet. Wink
