Hello all!
I've been reading the various forums and links were members-only, so I joined.

I love the videos and pictures and this breed in general, which I've only known about for a few hours. But I love the concept of a wolf dog sans recent wolf infusions. Aside from the strict laws governing wolves and hybrids, a wolf really isn't a pet and hybrids just barely count as domesticated, depending on their percentages.
I'm a mooch that lives with my parents, but I'm hoping to move out within the forthcoming year. It ain't cheap, especially not with sparse jobs and poor pay and all that other "US slump" stuff that's going on.
I don't know whether I'll be moving into an apartment or renting a house. I live in an area where renting a house might actually be cheaper if you keep an eye out. Seems backwards to me, but if it's got a yard I'll take it.
I think I soaked up more information on this breed in the past few hours then I have on any other breed in the same amount of time. They're fascinating, beautiful, and look like a dog (or, really, they look like a wolf) not to mess with while at the same time being amazing family dogs and very friendly. It's a great bluff, which I would appreciate since we do get illegal aliens running through yards stealing things down here.

They seem perfect.
I live with eight cats, three dogs (one a hound, so I'm used to howling-and he taught my small schnauzer mix to howl which is hilarious), and a koi pond for them all to periodically fall into, so I can't imagine living without dogs. None of my (well, Mom and Dad's) dogs are aggressive. Our old girl is snappy, but not bad at all.
This is a really disjointed post, I know. I SHOULD be in bed so that I can get to work tomorrow. That's my excuse: I'm sleepy.
Anyway, as for getting a puppy...yeah. I want to. Actually, I want to adopt an adult dog (probably a greyhound) and then [hopefully] acquire a Tam puppy. A lot of apartments around here have breed restrictions, which I think is vastly unfair to owners and dogs since it's the individual, NOT the breed, that might be aggressive. There are tons of pitts in the pound here.
I've found that if raised around different things as a pup, most dogs do fine with rabbits (hey, I saw Vixen's video, hehe), cats, other dogs, and even being left alone. My limit is four hours since I like coming home to visit and allow dogs a potty break. They usually look so pathetic that they wind up with treats before I have to go back to work. I know that Tams have separation anxiety, but I've seen people on here mention that having another doggy friend helps.
If I did wind up in an apartment, rest assured that no matter what dog breed I get there will be daily walks. And a daily or nearly-daily long run at the local dog park. I don't believe in getting a dog only to neglect it. If you don't want to walk a dog farther then it takes for them to piddle, well, that's what toy breeds are for.
If I wind up getting a house, the dog park plan stays (socialization and play time) and I don't believe in getting a dog only to keep him or her outside. Why did you bother with the dog if you'll never see it or play with it? makes no sense.
Alright, I'm off to bed. If you red this far, congratulations and thank you! It was probably way too long!

Hopefully I'll be getting to know the rest of you and learn more about this breed on this forum. My semi-questions/plans might seem like jumping the gun, but they're at least half a year out, probably more. I enjoy serious over-planning.
